Oak Harbor, Washington USA - Wednesday, November 29, 2000 at 20:09:46 (PST)Your site is fantastic, I just read all about Leon Chandler whom I met down in Junin de los Andes, Neuquen, Argentina, where Leon, Stephen Born, Chairman NRB-TU, Jack Imhof, Aquatic Ecologist Ontario MNR, Ontario, Canada and I attented the VI Congress on Sportfishing and Mangement of Salmonids held between 11-08 and 11-11-2000. We managed to get some great fishing on their famous rivers: the Malleo, Chimehuin and Caleufu. This is still virgin country, very accessible and not expensive if you do your homework. One new development is a change in rules allowing fishing from a raft, McKenzie type or flat bottom boat, in the Chimehuin, the Malleo and the Quilquihue rivers. This allows access to river sections which the landowners claimed as "private waters" something that by the Argentine Constitution DOES NOT exist. Anyway, there is a lot more that was accomplished for the benefit of the resource. Keep up the excellent work, you may want to look into https://www.AustralAnglers.com.ar and link it. Saludos,
Julio Julio C.M. Mazzoli <wulyburger@aol.com>

Holland, MI USA - Thursday, September 14, 2000 at 05:22:45 (PDT)It's not just about a delicate presentation with a 3wt and 5x tippet. It could be a 100ft cast with 12inches of 80lb shock. Its all the same passion that grows with years of enjoying the strike and releasing the catch. Flyfishing is a status not a sport. Thanks FA OnLine you're doing a great job. I would love to see a little more saltwater flatsfishing, however. Rick Gardner <MrEarl007@aol.com>

Estacada, OR USA - Thursday, June 22, 2000 at 18:35:12 (PDT)Thanks for the site and all the info on the Black Hills. My friend Steve Hueser and I fished five days in the Black Hills and had fantastic fishing. We caught more fish than I would have imagined ever possible. The info on this site along with your trip to S.D. made it possible to have the correct flies along, but we also tied in camp to deal with the hidden surprises. Biggest fish of the trip was a 22" rainbow on Spring Cr., also the first of the trip. We also caught many other really nice browns and bows and hammered the brookies on Elk Cr. Can't wait to go back. perth, wa australia - Thursday, June 01, 2000 at 06:02:43 (PDT)WOW, I can't believe I have not found this site before. EXCELLENT! The first article I read by James about how he has been working on the "trout eye view" of flies has intrigued me since I began fly fishing. It is amazing what he as done, and as he says, it's difficult to believe there has not been more discussion about this field of intrest. I think James should take his slide show and if you will excuse the pun, "take a page out of Vinces' book" and publish his research for all time. Enough for now, thanks for a great site, you can be sure I will become one of the regulars here.

Fieldbrook,, CA USA - Thursday, May 18, 2000 at 11:28:11 (PDT)Best site I've encountered. My wife and I have 3 sons. Ages are 15, 13,10. We all tie and fish like lunatics. What pleased me most about the site was the "stuff" on bluegill. I get tired of the elitism sometimes associated with fly fishing. Get real. I taught all three boys to fish on bream beds. Just like my grandmother taught me. Wonderful site. Absolutely wonderful! Greg Gardner <greg-gardner@utulsa.edu>

England - Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at 05:20:45 (PDT)This site is a well stocked pond. It offers everything imagineable in the differing aspects of fly fishing. I've flyfished for many years (10 almost to the day), and continue to learn much. The wealth of knowledge available at this site is displayed through it's members, who don't seem to just drop names, but actually participate in the sites success. You could fish "lochstyle", and find just about anything about the sport in the different layers of this great pond. If a person can't see this, maybe try a couple different hooks stacked, and dip deeper to bottom because I've just hooked a big one with this site. Gonna, make a great visit when the snow flies (heck, it just flew last Sunday, AM). Keep it up, just an awesome job!! Lorne Campbell <lornejcampbell@hotmail>

Jackson, MI USA - Saturday, April 01, 2000 at 06:27:13 (PST)In Mongolia we are quite cut off from information on flyfishing, I have been surfing the web and found your site, it truly is great, with good and useful information for people starting up and for the experienced person.
People might think that in Mongolia we don't do much fly fishing, when I arrived in 1991, the Mongolian fishermen would look at me and say to themselves "what is he doing" today we have a group of about 50 people flyfishing.
Thanks for the great site "AT LAST" Albert Kuilderd <albert@magicnet.mn>
Ulaanbaatar, MONGOLIA - Friday, March 31, 2000 at 07:10:34 (PST)Great web page. I'm pretty sure that of all the salmon rivers of the world the one in our town is the best. You get up walk 10 minutes to the rivers edge, cast your line, catch your fish, and 20 minutes after it's out of the water, it's in your freezer. Pretty neet hun! FRAMETOWN, WV USA - Saturday, March 25, 2000 at 07:43:51 (PST)Just opened our fly fishing outfitters here in Toledo Ohio.
I grew up in Portland Oregon and Denver Colorado with a father who loved fishing. His stories of growing up in Idaho and hopping freight trains with his friend Slim Streeter to go fishing in Montana when he was 9 years old are classics.
I have a great love of the classic cane rods and the beauty of hand made creels from the Portland makers. There is a new book out just on old creels that is beautiful. The Cleveland Museum of art is doing a show this year just on creels. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to an article on Charlie Jenkins fly rod building history.

Deanna, my favorite section is "This Week's View". You always have something interesting to write about and your willingness to speak out on controversial issues, such as the "I-696" salmon initiative and the FFF over their "MasterCaster Instructor" designation is no doubt appreciated by those of us who read your articles. Thanks.

phila, pa USA - Monday, March 13, 2000 at 16:52:32 (PST)I spend the majority of my free time on the internet here at this sight. I have read a majority of the articles, finding them very informative and well written. In the case of "The Lighter Side" I was frequently laughing so hard I had tears well up. The best part of this sight by far is the chat room. It is wonderful to be able to draw on years of experience when you have a problem. I have just recently started tying, between the begining tying pages and the wonderful folks in the chat room I feel as though I am an expert. No pattern is intimidating, because I know that there are these great folks to talk me through any problem; my first hackle wrap for instance. They are also happy just to shoot the breeze with you. In a word Kudos to all who participate and encourage the advancement of an honorable sport. As a side note keep your back cast out of power lines too. (invaluable advice) Dan Goss <dgoss@awod.com>
