houston, tx USA - Tuesday, December 29, 1998 at 11:05:27 (PST)I caught my first Grayling in AK.. My dad and I fished the feeder streams between
the ponds off of the Denali highway in June 10 years ago. It was just after ice out
and we had the time of our lives. We stayed one night at the sleeping lady lodge(?)
and fished one afternoon and morning. Caught lots of 8-16 inchers using a yellow
Knudsen Spider on the top. What a fun memory for both my dad and I. He is now 86
and still talks about the Alaska Grayling even though he caught several nice salmon
and bows in the Deska, Clear Creek and Talkeetna. Truly a beautiful fish and more
fun than one deserves on a fly!!

Gelnview, il USA - Saturday, November 07, 1998 at 13:46:18 (PST)Just logged on to your site. Looks like a lot of good information. I live in the
bootheel of Missouri were I flyfish for largemouth bass. Popping bugs and rubber
spiders work good in late summer and early fall. I had some luck last winter with a
clouser minnow. If anyone has a suggestion for some wet flies or streamers that work
well on bass. I would be interested in hearing from you.

USA - Thursday, November 05, 1998 at 15:19:19 (PST)I thoroughly enjoy this web site and it's chat room. I've been coming here for
quite some time now to obtain a wealth of information, and to join the conversations
in the room. After initially exploring other sites I like this one the most. Even
with the glitches in the "old" room it was still, in my humble opinion, the best one
on the internet with info. & friendly people. Now that the new chat room is here
it's even better, (if thats possible). The people here, the host and users make it
even better.
I hope FAOL is with us fly fishermen for a very long time. As they say, thank you
for being there.

We met in the "smoking lounge" AKA the loading dock in back of the Salt Palace, The
"only fly show in the U.S." the FFRWT EXPO in Salt Lake City, Utah. So, how are you?
Did you go to "Denver??" Quite a sleeper for the most part is the feedback I got

All for now, have fun, and may God Bless.

Toronto, On Canada - Sunday, September 27, 1998 at 16:10:28 (PDT)I am currently working on a boat design especially for still water fly fishing. I
have done an extensive amount of fly fishing in local waters for many, many years
and have a good idea of what I want, but would be interested in any opinions anyone
else has about what a really great fly fishing boat should be. Also, anyone
interested in having a boat built to specs should let me know, too. Please, send me
your ideas.

Houston, TX USA - Tuesday, August 11, 1998 at 04:54:04 (PDT)Thanks to "Streams, Flats, and Big Waters" for the suggestion to check out this
website. I was pretty much overwhelmed by the variety of information available at
the site, and I am quite sure that it will take some big surfing time to view it all
and find out what will best suit my personal needs. The fact that it is updated so
often will keep me coming back to see what is new.
It was no surprise to me that Idaho was not mentioned in the regional reports in the
U.S. angling site. For you living outside Idaho, do not think this was an oversite
on behalf of the FAOL staff. There is no good fishing in Idaho. Do not come here
to fish, it would be a waste of your valuable time and money.

Ca USA - Sunday, August 09, 1998 at 10:14:15 (PDT)Very nice Website! Sounds like you had a nice trip to Yellowstone. I have eaten
a few of those filets at the Totem... I practiced in West Yellowstone for nine
years, and in St.Anthony, Idaho for two years before that. I can appreciate your
observation that West Yellowstone is growing perhaps too much! That is a small
part, but part of the reason none the less, for why we left. I used to be on the
Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce(Chairman of the "Fly Fishing
Committee..."). Boy was that ever an education...! I have been back once since we
left, and I bet I fished more in those 3-4 days than I did the entire last year to
year and a half that I was living there, which is one of the most important reasons
we left. Sounds like you ran into some "weather" on your trip there. That can really
affect the Gallatin, as you experienced. I enjoyed reading about your experiences-
brought back some pleasant memories.
Once again, I enjoy your website. Keep up the good work!

Windsor, ca USA - Thursday, May 07, 1998 at 11:46:22 (PDT)FAOL is one of the best begginers sights i've seen. There are many widely covered
topics and how to arcticles. The terms and tips section is a great idea as fly
fishing can be at times a confusing sport. Also the fly patterns are the easiest
i've seen and the setup for them is great, making them easy and non-confusing when
looking over with very organized patterns and steps. Keep up the good work
