'FISH-IN 2001' PHOTOS, 5

By Deanna Lee Birkholm, Publisher FAOL

Saturday evening was the wrap-up of Fish-In 2001 with a Pig Roast, drawings for the goodies provided by some of our Sponsors, and Awarding of the Medals for the American Casting Association sanctioned Distance Casting events. The Gold Medal went to our own James Castwell (Jim Birkholm) the Silver Medal to Joe Marincel from the DRC, and the Bronze to Ray DuBois (Saltfly).

The Cortland Line Company graciously provided a dozen or so fly lines and the Grand Prize for the Drawing, a Diamondback 5 wt. Trout Rod. Karen Alexander, wife of Bob (PMD) won the rod and promptly handed it to Bob for an early Birthday present, (Bob's birthday was the next day).

One of the highlights of the dinner was a wonderful cheezecake air shipped by Flyman47 from his Texas cheezecake factory since he couldn't attend! A very nice gesture.

Here's the Drawing. Folks who entered the Distance Contest also received a numbered ticket for the Drawing. Many bought the ticket and didn't cast. Perhaps saving their diginity? All the tickets went into a Friends of FAOL hat, Chris Marshall draw the numbers and Liz read them off.
