'FISH-IN 2001' PHOTOS, 3

By Deanna Lee Birkholm, Publisher FAOL

One of the events from Fish-In 2001 was Ron Kusse and a "Cane Chat" - which included how cane rods are made, care and feeding of cane rods, and a demonstration of the strength of cane as opposed to graphite rods. The pictures below show it, Ron sharpened a piece from a cane rod and drove it into a plank. Nothing like seeing it!

Here's proof cane isn't fragile - in fact, Ron crumbled a cut piece of a 9 weight graphite rod between his fingers to show how fragile it is. You've got to see this.

Mantis - Bob Mead tying
Bob Mead, (Mantis) demonstrated some of his "Realistic" flies to the group - he's tying Ladybugs! It was delightful to see and his comments were great as he tied and answered questions.
