Turkey Swap

**** SWAP IS CLOSED ***** SWAP IS CLOSED ****

Mail the flies to: John G. White, Box 672, Clara City, MN 56222. Sorry about that.

E-mail your mailing addresses to jsjawhite@yahoo to receive your feathers. Be sure to include your “username” so I can keep it all straight! Thanks for joining in. JGW

Diane’s Quaker Swap prompted an idea. Why not do the same with turkey feathers. I have a big bag of 'em. So here’s the deal: eight tiers plus myself. Tie anything you want, any size you want, for any warm, salt or cold water fish. We’ll keep the whole thing a surprise, sort of like “no peak” poker. If you want to play, simply sign on here. NO FLY NAMES PLEASE. We’ll take the first eight. When everyone is signed on, I’ll give go-ahead for you to e-mail me your mailing address. I’ll send out three turkey feathers to that address. When you have your flies tied, then mail them to me with returnable packaging and stamps. Each tier will tie 8 of the same pattern of your choice. Toe tag with the name of the fly and recipe. Just keep the pattern to yourself until it is mailed. Sound fun? Flies due on November 15, with the idea that we’ll get the turkey flies back to you by Thanksgiving! And because no one will know what you’re tying, we’ll have an early Christmas present! JGW

Welcome guys. One slot left! JGW

I’d like to get in also JGW. It’s getting to be that time of year again.

Welcome everyone. Look in the original post for your next instructions. This sounds like fun. JG

I still am short two of you sending me mailing addresses. So far I have envelopes addressed to Jack, Paul, Gordon, Frank, Dan and Mike. I’ll send them on Friday regardless if the others send their addresses to me via e-mail. I was kind of hoping to send them on the same day for fairness, then realized, hell, this ain’t no race. So I’ll be fingering through the feathers tonight and mailing them to you guys tomorrow. Thanks for your patience. JGW

I emailed you my address this past sunday evening–I sent it to you again just now.

Thanks

Just got it. The envelope is addressed. One more is out there. JGW

I also e-mailed you my adress right after you posted the update. Hmmmm! I will send it again and please post here if you get it.
Thanks Chad

You can’t catch fish with your fly in the air!

I can’t pretend to wonder why an e-mail doesn’t come in. I’ve sent files to our sister newspaper six miles away only to have them suddenly pop up three days later. Obviously snail mail is quicker in those intances. Speaking of which, everyone is now accounted for and the feathers will be in the air! Thanks. I’m pretty excited about this one. JGW

They’re off! JW

Thanks for the update
