I just happened to think . . . it’s not illegal to mail feathers is it? If your swapmeister goes to jail over this he’s gonna be rather perturbed! JGW

On my walk this morning I had a vision of a neat looking bluegill fly. It is similar to one I just threw together a few years back when a different friend popped a turkey on my family’s farm. 22 lb’er. I tied the fly over the lunch hour, then hit the ponds that afternoon and caught a nice bass in the 4-5 pound range, prompting my sister to call it a yin-yang weekend. JGW

Got my flies done today!

I was torn between two patterns butI think you all will be happy with the one that made the final cut. It is one that has worked for me all over and does a nice job of looking buggy.

Looking forward to seeing the other creations.

Our first flies arrived today! Way to go, Shanendoah. I suspect we’ll have some symbiotic tying on this one. It’s going to be fun to see the muse of us all from around the country. JGW

8 days left to get your flies in for the Turkey Swap! Another great batch in today from Featherfastener. Wow, this is going to be one whale (er, turkey) of a swap and I think if everyone else holds up the standards of the first three sets that have arrived, it’ll be an absolute winner. I’m amazed. So, folks, let’s get the rest in the mail. I want them in your hands before Thanksgiving – as promised. JGW
