Quill Body Dries

no…i have not received any further flies than what is listed as received. however, i havent been to the PO in about 3 days. i will check tomorrow and post again.

i sent mine out a few days ago, should be there pretty soon. Hope ya like em’

from MA, it could take some time. the USPS in this town is kinda slow and not very, umm, professional. they will get here, but the PO doesnt hurry for anyone in this town. i didnt see them in my box this morning, but they might be there come monday. ill be sure to keep you posted…

thanks bro

got your flies, CJR, however, there are no toe tags. would you like to post the name and recipe as you tied them so i can toe tag them for the other swappers? thanks.

Sorry bout that, i never even thought about the toe tags. Here it is:

Hook: Standard dry size 16
thread: 8/0 black
abdomen: stripped peacock quill
thorax: peacock herl
wing: very fine deer hair

Very simple pattern, good variation on the EHC because it can represent emerging mayflies as well. Hope they work for you boys.

Thanks for the swap, it was an excellent idea

from my experience as swapmeister, i reccomend emailing those who have not sent them out. They may just need a reminder, i almost forgot about as well. If you dont hear back, theres nothin you can do about it. I’d give it a try, sometimes a friendly notice is all they need.

Tyflier…mine will go in the mail Tues. AM…Im out of tins otherwise they would go tomorrow. I stuck to the standard Red Quill recipe other than using CDL for the tails. Looking forward to a great swap!..Jason

not a bad idea, CJR, considering that i, myself, even failed to realize how close the deadline is. i will do so tomorrow, just to give the 3 remaining folks a heads up, even though you just gave one to feenom…

Anytime man. Thanks again for the swap

i have sent emails as reminders to the 3 remaining members. i will let you all know when i find out.

ilmbaba has informed me his flies are enroute. waiting with smiles and anticipation

ilmbaba’s flies are received, and worth the wait.

waiting only on 2 tiers: Andy B and feenom, who posted that he was sending them this week. no word from Andy B, but i believe his flies will show up soon.

i have still received no word from Andy B, even after a second email. i will wait as long as it takes for me to receive feenom’s flies, as his are “in the mail”. after that, what do you guys think i should do??

Keep trying to contact Andy B. I just finished another swap with him and he had no problems with it. I’m sure he’ll respond soon.

Don’t make me a liar, Andy.

i will keep trying to contact Andy. i know this is not intentional. i am also very excited about getting his set of flies, considering how meticulous he is in his tying.

i want to leave it up to the group as a whole as to how long we wait for him, however. i am going to post a topic directly to him in the tying section, as feenom just informed me that my email to him was sent as spam, and he may have the same situation, and simply not received my email. i prefer to think it is a small amount of confusion. i know he would not intentionally disrupt a swap. he is an exacting host himself, and knows how it feels.

post up, everyone, and let me know your position.

thanks-
Chris

still no word from andy b, and i have yet to receive feenoms flies. feenom assures me his flies are enroute-maybe this afternoon.

i will try one more time to catch Andy B’s attention, but i am no longer optimistic.

as soon as i receive feenoms flies, i will start sorting and mail out. since i just moved, i have lost my internet connection. i will be offline for a few weeks, waiting for the new cable hookup to be set. rest assured, when i receive feenoms flies, i will sort and mail ASAP.

tyflier…please tell me they got there today! I’ve been in quite a few swaps and never lost a shipment but, there’s always a first time.
Seems like you’ve done all you could to get Andy’s attention. I’m all for giving leeway but, assuming mine got there today, let those flys fly!..Jason

no, feenom, i havent received your flies yet. but i am in the middle of the mountains, with about the worst mail service in the country, so i will keep checking, and sort and ship as soon as i receive them.

i feel as though we have given andy b enough leeway. had i received some sort of response from one of my many attempts to contact him, i would be more than willing to give more leeway. however, with the absence of a response, i am going to go ahead with the swap, and sort and ship as soon as i get feenom’s flies.

thanks for a great swap, everyone. it has been really fun.

i have received feenom’s flies!! still no word from Andy B .

i will begin sorting flies this evening and hope to have them airborn by early next week. everyone will be getting one extra of their own fly back, as a result of not hearing from Andy B.

thanks again to everyone who participated in this swap. this was my first venture as hosting, and you have all helped to make it enjoyable and successful.
