On the mend

Hi Folks,

I had surgery on my right knee today to
restore mobility and reduce pain. For the
last month it’s been bed, bath and kitchen
and much gritting of teeth.G

Following orthoscopic surgery, my doctor
told me that the damage was worse than
anticipated and took an hour longer than
expected to repair. However, he said it
was very successful and that I could
anticipate renewed agility, a significant
or complete reduction of pain, and a
full recovery within 6 weeks.G

I'm looking forward to some quality

time at the bench followed by a belated but
successful season with the feisty red eared
sunfish. Thanks for the calls and emails and
especially your effective prayers.G Warm
regards, Jim

That’s great ,Jim…didn’t know you were having problems…you’re always so upbeat…so ty a bunch but don’t forget the exercises…as you know…very important.

Jim,
I’m glad the surgery went well. I hope you get some quality time on the water soon.

Hey Jim,
Didn’t know you hada problem. You didn’t seem to limp here on FAOL. IN any case, hope your recovery is swift and painless.

Mark

We were thinking about you this afternoon Jim, glad all went well. You remain in our prayers (along with the other FAOL folks )

I had my knee repaired last July with a similarly longer than planned surgery. The knee now does anything I have tried to do though I do limp a little when running yet. Keep the ice on it and keep it elevated a lot to reduce the pain. I definately hurt when I didn’t. I did find that Bushmills whiskey tasted better than the vicodin the doctor prescribed.

all leaders tangle; mine are just better at it than most. Jim

Guess I’m behind on all the news also. Glad to hear everything is going well and you’re on the mend, Jim. Best wishes and prayers for a fast recovery.

Jim,

Glad to hear your on the road to recovery. Just remember there is a speed limit on that road. Don’t rush things, no matter how good the fish are biting.

Jim, … Wow, … I didn’t even realize you were ‘broke’.

Take care and mend well.

Thanks Folks,

I’m a good patient, and always follow
the Doc’s instructions to the letter.
My wife keeps an eye on me to ensure that
is the case.G I’m just tickled to
know that I’ve made the turn and that with
time now comes improvement. Thanks for the
support.G Warm regards, Jim

Good Luck Jim. My wife had one of her knees rebuilt this spring, she is on the mend too and much more mobile than before. Take care, Jonezee

I understand whatyou are goiing through no from personnel experience but watching my wife recover from 2 knee replacement surgeries. Take it easy on yourself and do what the doc says. Tie a bunch of flies, who knows I may run into you someday and need some good flies

Best wishes for a speedy and full recovery.

aka Cap’n Yid.

Good! I think that you might need a cold water bath to keep the swelling down. Say in about 6 weeks time. That lines up with the Quebec fish-in perfectly. Are ya goin’ ??

Nah Jeff,

I’m geograpically challenged. Even with
the new knee, that’s a long walk.G I’d
love to get up there though. I’ve read of
Mr. Chins prowess with shore lunches.G
Warm regards, Jim

Best of luck Jim. I know two guys who have had similar work done and their only regret was they didn’t do it sooner.

p.s. I’ll handle the bulegill fishing for you. Unfortunately, my fish tend to run a few inches shorter than yours.

Glad to hear you are on the mend Jim.
They can’t keep a good man down!
Warmest regards,…Bob
