Those shellcrackers are shakin’ in their collective fins 'cause look what happened to them when he had the bum knee. Now a healthy Hatch, LOOK OUT!
I figure a dozen flies an hour (give or take) with a prognosis of 2 weeks minimum “down time”…hm…112 DOZEN FLIES!
I see a fly-shop in your future

Hey McSteff,
Could be a problem storing all these
silly flies. Are you offering to help
with the storage problem?G Warm regards,
Jim
J H, Sorry to hear of your setback with the bad wheel… Best wishes for a quick recovery, Jim
Jim,
I hope your knee heals well for you. Enjoy the vice-time.
Ok Jim
Enough sitting around and getting all the girls to help you out. Start maping out your next fishing trip, and if I remember correctly you were going to host a fish-in. That in it self takes a lot of time.
come on get off you duff and get going.
GET WELL SOON we are praying for you.
Harold and Garret
Jim,
Congrats may sound funny for a surgery but congrats that you are on the mend. I don’t know you, really don’t know anyone on here, but I have noticed from 2 years of FAOL that you are consistently a voice of reason and class, even when prodded. I respect that and even if we don’t ever meet on some distant water, it gives me reason to wish you the best in your recovery!!!
Dustin
Thanks Folks,
The thoughts and well wishes are more
appreciated than you know.G Harold, I’m
doing my best buddy, and if the Doc allows
it when I visit tomorrow, I’ll pull an
Emeril and “Kick it up a notch”. Though
admittedly, I’ve not been kicking too high
of late.G Dustin, what a great compliment. I guess you missed a few of my
postings, but you’ve earned yourself the
catbird seat in my boat any day.G Thanks
folks! Warm regards, Jim
Jim,
I heard that you were at home flat on your back in bed – Are you sick or just hoping to get lucky!!
Jim, please get well soon and follow the doctor’s instructions.

Jim: It’s been a week now, I hope you are doing better since your first post> What is the score? Jonezee
Hey Warren,
I think we have him figured out…he’s lyin’ around, gettin’ catered to, & I don’t hear him complainin’, do you?
Mike
You can call me Mike & you can call me Mikey…Just remember that this site’s about sharing!
Yep, my wife has taken wonderful care of me,
but then she always does.G Truth be known, I’m just choking at the bit to get
back on the water. The knee is too tender
to launch and retrieve the bass boat and
even if I did manage to get into the kayak,
it would require an engine hoist to lift me
out and sit me back on my feet.G I feel
very much like a Weeble. You know, Weebles
wobble but they don’t fall down.G Well,
I’ve been pretty wobbly of late.G But we
are gonna get past it just as quick as we
can. I got a new camera for fathers day and
can’t wait to catch something that would
make your mouths water. I’m thinking very
seriously of selling the kayak and picking
up a canoe for the ease of exit. I’d be in
good company with the likes of Mr. Tuber and
numerous others on here with killer canoes.
Your kind comments and humour are very much
appreciated. As always, if ya get down this
way, you can expect a warm welcome. Plan on
it.G Warm regards, Jim
Hi Folks,
I just left the surgeons office after my
first post surgury visit. He could not
believe the mobility I exhibited in his
office.G He told me that I was easily
in the top 5% of recovering patients he’s
ever had and doing better than many far more
youthful athletic types.G He used all the
right buzz words to make me feel good and
then showed me the pic’s of the repairs he
had done. They were far more extensive
than had been anticipated, but they went
extremely well. The surgeon cancelled my
other visits and just wants to see me in
5 weeks to release me barring any
complications. I should be back on the
water in a week, two at the most. I totally
share credit for my success with my FAOL
friends.G Thanks so much for your
support. You guys are great.G Warm
regards, Jim
Hey Jim
I am so glad we did not have to send Betty over to make sure you were doing what the doctor ordered. Now keep getting better, I’ll keep praying for your speedy recovery.
Tell the wife we are really praying for her.
Harold
I have opened 2 posts so far. Both started on a positive note. It’s a good day.
Glad everything is expected to be OK.
Cheers
Bob
Hey Bob,
Thanks! Lots more to be gained from a
positive attitude than a negative one for
sure.G
On an equally positive note, the kind
folks at the neigboring Navy Recreation area
here on Lake Moultrie have invited me to
bring my fly rod and roam the grounds at
my leisure fishing their docks and rip rap.
There may even be a golf cart envolved.G
I’m heading our shortly to avail myself of
their hospitality. Life is good, and good
people make it even better.G Warm regards, Jim
God Speed my friend. Ain’t it great. We’re just delighted.

Join the canoe-searching club
. I’m looking for a small square stern myself rather than a double end so I can outfit it with a small kicker (load into the bed of the pick-up). I have to cover more water down here to get to more productive water so unfortunately a double end (paddling only) won’t get me there as those productive waters are too far away to paddle. It will also let me fish during the more unfavorable months that I don’t use my ODC 816.

Jim,
See if you can get someone to install pontoons on the golf cart and replace the drive wheels with paddles!!
Be careful and do not overdo it.
