My super economical rod storage

I have been struggling with coming up with a rod storage system that is economical, efficient, yet space saving, & I thought one up that works very well for me & may for someone else too, so I thought I would share it.
I have a bookcase that I use, although this would work on a wall, closet wall, etc. I spent about 5 bucks on adhesive backed velcro. I simply put a strip (the loop, or soft, side) of velcro from front to back of my bookcase, then stood my rod cases up & attached a “ring” of the “hook” side of the velcro to my rod tubes at the appropriate height. When I want a rod, I simply pull it off the wall & to put it back, i just stand it & the velcro holds it snugly against the wall. No more rod tubes leaning in a corner for me. Here are a few pics…

Clever and cheap!!! I like it!!!

Mike, looks better than I pictured in my head, very clever…

Mike
It works so well it made your photos disappear too!

Don’t feel left out because I am not getting the pictures either. Just a message stating the picture or video has been moved or deleted! Same thing on his fly tying area pictures!

Thats strange, I get these, but the ones on the fly tying area don’t show up?

Looks like the photo’s went to the bucket

Hey folks…I’m having Photobucket issues…am fixing now.

An even more economic rod storage would be making rod tubes out of pvc with screw on caps. And if you felt like it. lining the outside and inside with cloth for added protection.

I have just deleted my photobucket account as it was posting the wrong pics, etc…it will take up to 48 hours before I can get back on it…I’ll try to post again at that time.

Mike,

This post reminds me of the scene in the movie Christmas Vacation where the Christmas lights wont turn on for Clark…

It’s a great tip and I am going to use it in my truck too.

Hey folks,
Mike and I worked this problem late last night. Now there is a dangerous situation, the Hawk and the Tuber brainstorming! Can the world survive that?

I think Mike is actually having issues with the clipboard function of his browser. He can get it to copy different URL’s but it keeps pasting the first one over and over. Very puzzling.

Excellent idea. I had to buy some velcroe as soon as I saw this. I even tried mounting them horizontally, with a piece of velcroe at each end.

Thanks, Logan

I know if you post a picture from Photo Bucket, then move it in your photo bucket account it will delete the posted picture. A screen should come up warning you of this.

You may be having the same problem that I do. When I click on the url it says that it is copied, but it is not. After clicking on it I have to right click on it and then copy it. Then it will post. Just a thought.

Good point. I have notice that lately also. It use to just copy when you clicked on IMAGE, but now I work off a Mac Book I have to manually copy and paste…didn’t think of that.

That is a great idea and I will use it in my hall closet. I only wonder if it would be better to reverse the hooks and loops. I would prefer the loops on the rod case so they don’t catch so much debris or car trunk carpet (then again it may keep them from rolling aroung there too).

Awaitin’ with baited breath.

Sure wish I knew what it looks like…I got nothing!

Not getting anything either. Would like to see if possible.
