My super economical rod storage

Hey folks, I talked to Mike yesterday, he is working on getting his photobucket up dated and rolling, as soon as he does he will correct the era’s and get the pics on, there are also pics of his tying area in the fly tying section that had the same difficulties with posting, they should be up soon for all to see…

HEY! I have PICS to share!!!
As stated in fly tying, neither my 'puter nor I were the culprits in this Photobucket “snafu”! Adoobe Flash Player 10 created need for some changes in posting pics…at least for SOME of us. Now I left click on IMG code, then, using keyboard, Ctrl c to copy & Ctrl v to paste. Following are my rod storage pics…

This set up IS simple & cheap…use it as I did, on a wall, on the edge of a work bench, metal shelf…WHATEVER! It flat out works & your rods are easily & readily accessible.

Finally got it! Great Idea;)

Mike,

Thanks, great idea. It was worth the wait!

very nice ,will clean up my corner:p

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the photos. Got to run. I need to buy some Velcro. 8T

Great idea!!

Thanks for the comments.
Isn’t it funny how we often overlook such simple solutions? I was just about driving myself nuts (I know…short drive!) trying to decide what type of rack to use in my somewhat limited space when this idea hit me. Lake Erie High Ball is even thinking about using velcro for rods in his truck…loads of possibilities.
Mike

I have all my rods in a pile of sorts leaning on my gun cabinet. The Velcro method would save space and keep them safe. Just have to go get some sticky back Velcro. Thanks for the idea.

Roy

Hey Mike,
I’d splurge on the expense and double up on the width of the velcro.

I know, I know, I know, but it just seems so ‘wrong’ somehow. All neat and tidy. Kind of just grinds on me. Too clean, organized, intelligent. It took many years to collect my jumble of assorted rod tubes. They often lean, tilt and in fact fall over. But, there is a certain warm and fuzzy feeling of having to sort through them. Finding rods I forgot I had, Not remembering what exact size a rod really was and having to open the rod sock to check.
Nope. Not for me. It would propel me to a level to which I chose to not go. Not that I have a lot of rods, but I have never counted them and avoid doing so for the same reasons.

I’m with you JC!

It is a function of how many you have. I have enough that I couldn’t afford the velcro. Of course that is because I spent all my $'s for the rods:rolleyes::rolleyes:.

Actually I just use a bunge cord…not very sophisticated:-(.
