Minimalist swap-my second hosting

I got 2 more packages in the mail today. Some great looking flies from shanendoahangler and tyflier. Thanks!
I’ve heard from everyone, and it looks like everyone will be on time and I can get these out to you all on schedule. Thanks to everyone for their timely participation!

mailed the flies just now. I cannot vouch for the quality of them. I have been having bouts with vertigo which affects my sight and my motor skills. I tried using a bigger hook on a couple, but that did not seem to help. Anyway, I am sure the flies are okay, but I would have liked to have done better. Will they catch fish? Guaranteed.

Flies arrived today from gardenfish. Not to worry. They look just fine to me.

ahh i hope mine show tommorow

Not yet, but hopefully tomorrow.
I’m waiting on 2 sets of flies that were mailed last week. Once they arrive, I’ll get things packaged and shipped.

OK, guys! We’re swapping now! I got the last 2 sets in the mail today. Tonight is my birthday, so I’m going to spend the evening with family. I’ll redistribute all of the flies tomorrow after work, and then mail everything out on Friday. Thanks to everyone for another good swap.

Happy B-day O’Blue. I hope the family gets you some nice gear and shows you a good time tonight.

awsome im soo stoked too see everyones creations. blue did u get the couple bucks i threw in for the return postage. it was 89 cents or something in 05 too ship back but i heard the rates were going up. if im short next swap u host ill send u extra cash too make up and some flies too…

Everything is sorted out and ready to hit the post office. I’ll get them in the mail tomorrow.

I have to apologize to you all. I had everything ready to ship, and picked up a bug from the kids. I was in bed sick all day Friday, so I didn’t get things out. I will have everything in the mail Monday unless I have a relapse or something. Sorry for the delay.

Ok, I just got back from the PO and everything is in the mail. Hope they arrive for everyone in short order.

VEry interesting and well tied, all of ‘em. I can’t wait for open water with this box. Thanks everyone, especially the swapmeister, Ol’ Blue. Great idea for a swap and it was a pleasure being a part of it. JGW

Thanks a million for hosting the swap. I got mine today…that was fast!!! All of the flies are great. Kahuna

Got the flies when I got home last night. Could those that did not add it to their tags, post the materials they used. Pan Man thank you for the couple of sample Emu feathers. I have been wondering what those looked like. I might have to order some of those little buggers up. Lots of great flies by all.

i did the sawyers nymphs. jsut pheasent tail fibers and fine copper wire, no thread

mine is fox squirrel tail and wing. The body is mixed colors of rabbit dubbed. Killer on trout.

Glad to see that they are arriving.
My damselfly is nothing more than a maribou feather tied in for the tail and then wrapped in for the body and tied over some dumbbell eyes. I’ve also tied it in chartreuse, white and pink for bass and crappie.

Guys, I’ll try to get some pictures taken, but my camera doesn’t have a macro lens, so my closeup shots never really come out well. If I can get some photos to work, I’ll e-mail them to everybody. Don’t hold your breath, though…

Fly’s arrived yesterday. What a great set of flys! I am heading out in a few minutes to fish the Roaring Fork. I am anxious to try a few of those patterns.

Pan Man, I have some Emu feathers, and have always wondered what to tie with them. Thanks for the great idea!

The flies were in the mailbox this morning. I must say that of all the swaps I have been in this was one of the best.

I believe I will tie up many of the patterns and give the bluegill and crappie a hassle this summer.

About the Emu feathers: Rick Zieger introduced me to Emu several years ago and I have found them excellent fish getters. They are fairly sturdy and accept dye easily.
If any of you decide you want to get some Emu I would recommend you go here: [url=http://remsset.com/shop/.:f0217]http://remsset.com/shop/.[/url:f0217] I have no connection with Paul other than being a satisfied customer. You get a large business size envelope stuffed with feathers for 2 bucks. Enough to tie oddles of flies.
If you place an order ask for the belly feathers as they are smaller than the back feathers and are better for fly tying. A wooly bugger with Emu hackle is a great fly.

Ol Blue: Thanks for hosting this swap and if you decide to repeat it I hope it is soon and I will be right in line.
