Minimalist swap-my second hosting

Any interest in a minimalist swap? I’m wanting to see what we have out there that is effective for you on the water that is tied with very few materials (2 or less not counting thread). I’m going to offer a maribou damsel built from nothing more than chain or dumbbell eyes and maribou. Lets limit to 10 tyers. Sign up by Jan 1 and have your 10 flies to me no later than Jan 15. This should let us get past the Christmas season and still have time to tie. Be sure to include toe tags, return shipping, and a crushproof container.

Were you in sunsky, or just making an observation?

Count me in. I will probably tie a scud

I like to get in on this one. I will tie a British yarn nympth, a simple but effective fly for trout.
Hikepat@aol.com for contact information.

I’m going to be out of town hunting for the weekend, so the first 4 to post will get spots. I’ll contact everyone when I get back and give you mailing info for your flies when you complete them.

Sunskyhooksnwater, you are in. I wasn’t particularly clear for everyone, so I’m going to just host this and throw a maribou damsel in for everyone from me, too.

I’ve e-mailed everyone with my mailing address except for hikepat. I need your e-mail address to get you the info. If anyone else didn’t get the info, let me know and I’ll get it to you ASAP. Thanks again.

Fly’s went out in the mail today. ol’ blue, thanks for hosting this swap.

First set of flies arrived today from Panman. Neat emu nymph, Tim. Glad to see things moving already. It looks like we’re going to have a nice assortment for everyone.

alrighty ima make some sauwers(not sure of the spelling) nymphs. its basically a pheasent tail but i use copper wire instead of thread. its the original pheasent tail created many moons ago. they sink like rocks…

I’m tied. I’ll mail them on Monday. Here’s the recipe for a Gill Buster:
Hook: #10 dry fly hook
Thread: Black 6/0 prewaxed
Weight: Red hourglass weight, tied Clouser style.
Body: Black Zonker Strip.

Tie on weight, place zonker over the weight to the eye, wrap thread down shank to just above the point of the hook and back to the weight, then make a thread head. Glue.
