Minimalist swap-my second hosting

I’ll be tying a “Mardi-Nymph” .

Your flies came in the mail today, Dub. BTW, I used to live not too far from you. I spent some time in the early 80’s living in Rifle. Unfortunately, that was before my flyfishing habit began. I was strictly a spin fisherman back then.

A box of Gill Busters are now headed toward warmer weather. Mailed them this morning. JGW

Mine are tied and will be in the mail Monday

PROVO SOWBUG

Hook: Daiichi 1120 #18
Thread: Orange 6/0
Body: Lt. Hare’s Mask Dubbing

Comments - Wrap a thread base and form a dubbing loop. As you wind loop towards eye, stroke hair back at each turn around shank. Tie off at eye and form small orange head. This has been an extremely effective fly for me on numerous waters. It was shown to me by JP out of Park City Fly Shop.

ol’ blue. I’m glad the flies got there in good order. I dont hear a lot about scuds being used on the Colorado, or Roaring Fork, but they work well there.

Scud

Hook - Mustad 94842 size 16
Thread - Monofilamint
Body - Sow-Scud Dubbing (Smokey Olive)
Shellback - Sm amber D-Rib

This pattern is tied like the pattern called “Trout Crack”, except the dubbing is picked out to form legs.
Olive, Gray, and Rust are my most productive colors. Orange, and Pink have been dissappointing for me.
It’s probably just me, but I like the looks of the upturned eye (Mustad 94842) for this pattern. It looks kinda shrimpy. I’m sure the trout could care less. I haven’t had any trouble with losing fish to the upturned eye.

The gill busters arrived today. Great looking flies from everyone so far.

Tied mine this last weekend and just got done doing the toe tags. I will ship them out on Tuesday 12-20-05. from work.

Flies arrived today from MNfisher.

I just got flies in from hikepat. You guys are really on the ball! We’re halfway there.

How is everyone coming on their tying? I’ve received half of our flies so far and another batch is supposed to hit the mail this week. We’re down to about 10 days before they need to be here, so if anyone is going to have problems making it, let me know ASAP. Thanks.

Greg

should be fine. i was gonna send em out saturday after work. should onle take 5 days or soo too reach u express. unless i get locked in a box for the next week or some other wacky thing mine will be on time.

We are now in our final week. I haven’t heard anything from 3 of the tyers since we started. Everyone should probably be looking at getting their packages in the mail within the next 3 or 4 days at the latest. Again, if you aren’t going to make it or can’t make it, I need to know ASAP. I can get a set of replacements tied with a little notice.

flies are tied and packaged, will take flight tomorrow morning.
