Lucky,
I too appreciate your respect and candor. No matter our disagreements, I believe that you are a man that I could fish with…
Best to you,
DW
Mantis, I hope you are better at matching the hatch than guessing someone’s personality. My yearbook read Bantam Phil one of the livelier members of the Senoir class. I guess as one gets older we mellow and roll with the punches. Hope we can wet a line together down the road, not one in the sand.
38 years, that?s awesome, my hat is if off to both of you.

72 day until the Trout Season Opener,on April 1st (the original New Years Day, of course 11 days were subtracted from the calendar to realign the new New Years Day to fall within the 12-day Christmas Season, so the original New Years Day is now March 21st, but then I have been an “Old April Fool” all my life.
Just seems more logical to celebrate the New Year, with the return of the growing season, and flowers and leaves sprouting, instead of having it in the middle of the dark cold winter months.

If one disagrees with one’s government, can that person still be considered a patriot?
Whether you are, or are not politically correct should not be interpreted as to whether one does or does not love their country. Nor does one’s faith in God or lack of be considered a litnus test as to what political party they align with.
The last time I looked, God was neither Democrat nor Republican. And patriotism knows no political party.
From my perspective, this is a great flyfishing site polluted by extreme right-wing ideology.
I would love to come to the next fish-in, but I’m really, actually concerned about the political views I’d likely run into there, and whether such topics would surface.
I think that’s unfortunate and hope we can all steer towards topics we all have in common, and that’s fly fishing.

Josko
Well said.
Hey Josko,
I think polluted is a bit strong, but
obviously we have members from all over the
political spectrum.
That said, just follow the threads on
any of the fish in’s, particularly the after
action reports. The pictures are loaded
with grins and the comments are of newly
made friendships and plans for next year.
You are obviously correct that flyfishing
and tying is the thread that binds our
diverse group together. When an opportunity
for a fish in or other get together occurs,
I believe everything but fishing takes a
spot on the back burner.
This thread has run long enough for everyone
that wanted to to have a shot at it. I’m
going to lock the door on the way out.
Warm regards, Jim
