LF, you hit the nail right on the head with this one! Politically correct!!
Well, we have OUR rights too and its time we stood up for them. I am guaranteed the right to do just that.

Needless to add my vote of " way to go LF but," Way to go LF"
I’ve pondered the statement " you can’t do or say that because it’s not PC" . There seems to be an implication there that you’d like to do or say something but you’d better not for some political reason. I’d rather opt not to do or say something for some MORAL reason, and my standards of morality are only MINE to define. I am judged by others for my interpretation of that definition- good or bad.
I can also take a joke.

A great read…
Isn’t commenting on LF’s comments regarding PC very similar to having the discussion that was deleted in the first place?
I saw the joke, and the note about how “offensive” it was. All jokes show someone or something in a bad light, and some days that is where we belong.
If we take ourselves, or our “position” in the world, so seriously that no one can say/do anything that makes us look less than perfect, it’s time to go ahead and walk across the lake.(If you can stay dry, I’ll apologize).
Real folks got warts, only perfect folks should be exempt from crtics.
Flip side is that I seldom see the need for flaming/venomous posts either. Just cause someone doesn’t agree doesn’t mean he is wrong. Mark Twain claimed he “was born ignorant and losing ground each day”, More of us are like that than care to admit.
Odd thing I’ve seen…most folks that are intolerant of others are the vary ones that need most tolerance.

From one who is more concerned about being morally correct than politically correct, thank you for having the courage to draw a line in the sand.
Think about this for a moment: Only dead fish go with the flow!

So as long as I remain a gentleman, can I post a reply in disagreement should the fancy strike me? And if so, will it be accepted with the nature of it’s intent? And without fear of being banned?

Thanks for clearing this up for me. You’re right I have been here a long time. But with all that has happened on this site recently, I just felt I needed clarification. Hope you understand.
What a fantastic article. LF you speak from the heart and I am proud to stand behind you. Moral relativism (political correctness) denies absolute truth and is the enemy of the free exchange of ideas, is a plague on society, and IT, not the proponents of it, should be fought until we have no fight left in us…

LF. You are right on the money. What ever happened to standing up for what you belive in and tell the PC folks to take a leap in the lake.
It is out of respect to the moderators that I try to stay out of posts about politics and religion
(like this one)
That does not mean I agree
I’m going to be to the point without being to gruff…but -
“First of all, she owns the website”
I believe that this is the most important tidbit of information that any of us need right here.
In a rough translation - it would be very much like my house. You can’t smoke in my house, but I can enjoy my copenhagen. Please take your shoes off when you come in the front door - but If I’ve been out pouring a concrete pad for my shed and want to track mud all the way upstairs into my bedroom - then its my right to do so, b/c its my house. You can complain about it if you want, but its my house and I reserve the right to have things the way I want, and if they aren’t, then I’m going to do what needs to be done - and if somebody doesn’t like the way I run my house, they have two choices, leave or get over it.
Dustin Price,
Your assessment is right on as far as I am concerned. We live in a postmodern morally relative world that has unfortunately lost sight of truth.
Who exactly are the PC police anyhow? What makes something PC or not? Don’t you think that this is simply an adult form of peer pressure? My beliefs may offend someone and therefore are inappropriate and wrong? Says who? Why are Christian values incorrect, but Islam, Buddhism, and paganism not contested?
I believe that this is a free country and everyone has a right to their opinion and belief system, however it crosses the line when those opinions and systems of belief (or disbelief) are forced on others.
I think that some of you (Dustin, AFG) are mistaking Political Correctness for the beliefs of a particular group. Although folks on the right have done a better job at labeling those on the left as “PC”, coercion to accept one view or another is not exclusive to either of the political extremes. Folks on the left feel as much pressure to conform to the standards and views of the right as much as those on the right feel pressured to hold the views of the left.
In addition, referring to someone’s views as “PC” is little more than a way to disregard a person’s views as having no value or to be in some way damaging. This attitude - whether from the left or right - is devisive and discourages dialogue that can eventually lead to compromise, cooperation, and mutual respect.
If we speak our heartfelt opinions, pay
those with differing opinions the respect
of reading theirs before responding, and
conduct ourselves in a respectable adult
manner, most of the problems go away. What
is PC other than a mutual respect for one
another? Warm regards, Jim
Lucky, I’ve been around a lot of years and some of your comments are typical of the “Lets accuse the other side of what we are doing even though they are not doing it, but if we repeat it often enough, it will make it true.” Typical of the hate and devision preached by the left. They do not want nor consider compromise. Why does it always seem to be the so called ‘Right’ , really the common man, who must ‘give in’ and have all this PC-ness forced on them. What’s wrong with ‘live and let live’, and ‘the golden rule’ as a good mantra to live by.
