‘no road is long with good company’

This is it! This is my last swap of the year. I just sent my flys out for my 7th swap in two months. I will stop at number 8, so please put me down for baetis nymphs, or emergers.

Diane;
I’m in with a Stone Fly

Paul, DUB, and Jack,

Welcome aboard. And DUB, if I get half as lucky as you with that Baitis, I’ll be one happy fishing fool! Thanks for joining, guys.

Diane

What is Lava lace? What flys can be tied?

Good question!

Larva Lace is a vinyl ribbing material that comes in a few sizes and several colors. Some of it is solid and round or flat or half-round. Some of it is hollow tubing. It?s most often used to wrap around a hook as a body, especially in nymphs, or as ribbing over some other body material. Some patterns also use it braided as a body. Here are some links where you can find out more.

Where can you buy Larva Lace? Possibly from your local fly shop. From the manufacturer?s link above, from Cabelas, ebay, and probably other online suppliers I don?t know about. I checked Hook and Hackle but didn?t find it there.

Mahaskaboy wants in. I’ll tie a midge or a nymph of my creation. I like tying with Larva Lace!

mahaskaboy

You’re in, Mahaskaboy. Welcome.

Hello everyone,

I will be tying a Beadhead Caddis Pupae.
Thanks, Brian H.

I would like to join your swap and tie the Beadhead Caddis Pupa with Lava lace on size 14

Cliff Austin

Sounds good, both of you. One can’t have too many beadhead caddis pupae, I always say.

I’d be interested in joining the swap. I’ll tie a baetis emerger pattern.

Do you mind if i change to a Prince style with Lava Lace?

Cliff

Cliff Austin

Good choice Cliff. I was ready to come over there and punch you in the nose for copying me!! LOL-LOL

Brian

p.s. i am kidding of course!!!

Glad to be tying with you.

gotcha flytyer45. That sounds like an excellent fly, by the way. Looking forward to it.

Diane;
Looks like it’s filling up. I’ll bump it back to the top.
I’ve got 7 tied already and will hold off finishing untill the final tally is in. Besides I’ve got to more swaps to tie for yet.

I feel more like I do now than I did when I got here!
