Hello From Central Pennsylvania

Hello Little J,
I’m ~100 miles west of you in New Ken. The J and Yellow are the closest limestoners to me. Pretty far, but worth the drive. Beautiful country - those limestone boulder fields blow me away.

Are there any dependable hatches before the grannom on the J?

Hmmm, good question on hatches before the Grannoms. BWO? They’ve been seeing them on Spring Creek which is only about 20 miles from Spring, so perhaps???

Nothing dependable enough to make a long drive for, there are some winter midges in the flats on sunny days, a few Little Brown Stones on sunny days in March , a few baetis, ZILLIONS AND ZILLIONS OF Grannoms mostly in the mornings around 9 AM.

I have a nephew just NE of Harrisburgh, toward Hershey. How far does that put me from the action Little J? I haven’t fished Pa. yet, and I’d like to. This nephew got married a year ago Jan. 10th. His reception was at a place right on the bank of the Yellow Breeches, near Carlisle. It was to dark and cold to even go look at the water in a Tux.

These are the idle thoughts that posses a man’s mind when he’s not able to fish.

107 miles from Hershey

Buzz: Hey I only have one Medalist coming in the mail??

Troutchaser: Glad to hear you got out and landed a couple, its nice have the stream to yourself!! I think I might be heading their this weekend if the weather is not to bad, hopefully there will not be to many people out. Did you have to walk very far from your vehicle to get to the stream? Did a little scouting around the casselman river in Maryland yesterday, no one fishing, just a few old tracks in the snow.
