Some slick talker should get the flip fin people to develop a hybird with a blade design similar to the force fin. You can have it all.
I can see the flip fins for rivers, but stillwater, the Force Fins are just fine.
I have the Force Fins, and would love the Omega’s, but I think in my case, more of the new toy.
I understand they are awesome, but the Force Fins do all they are suppose to for what I do.
And I have walked up hill - forward in mine.
I’m getting FF…ing confused…:p:p:p
Fixed it Duck…realized that Flip Fin and Force Fin were both FF…he,he,he
I am use to calling the Flip Fin - Omega.
Got my pump today…WAHOOO!
Well I vote for PRO Duck Fins! You go forward in the water when using them and also YOU CAN WALK with them on!!! Speed wise they are slower in the water than the fins you are talking about. Fishing is not all about speed for me. Price wise they win hands down at approx $30. Well for me the DUCKS take it for 4 out of 4, for things you should consider
in choosing Fins. MOST IMPORTANT IS THE THE WAY YOU CAN FISH USING THEM!
FORWARD BEETS GOING BACKWARDS ANYDAY FOR ME!
Fishin’ Jimmy
Trust me, when the weather changes and the hair on your arms is standing up…it is alllll about speed!
FORWARD…no thanks. Cast and strip with occasional troll
Are you talking about those little LEG flipper thingies?

When you’re done fishing and ready to head home, you simply click your heels together and say, " There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home".
AWESOME! Do they come in YELLOW!!!
I have been looking at these however:

Here you go…

If the hair is standing up, and the clouds are rumbling, I would rather have these!!
But for normal use, I use these:

There is a difference in Float Tube fins and Scuba fins, I don’t care what anyone says;)
I know too many people that have ruined their Knees or other parts of the lower body by trying to use LONG soft scuba fins.
Force Fins are BOWL shaped so scoop water like a spoon.
I do know people that also use scuba fins, lean back i there tubes and flutter like a swimmer getting movement on the up and down stroke. Down side to that is, finding a comfortable seat due to the fact you are leaning back, and being able to move a PONTOON.
I move like bouncing a child on my foot in a seated position. Scooping up.
Can really move with the Force Fins.
Like I said, I see the advantage to the OMEGA’s in the river where you pull over a lot and walk.
In my experiance I just couldn’t develop any real power until I got the force fins. I tried ‘cadddis fins’ that came with my water skeeter and even a friends scuba fins. I think the force fins change the thrust angle a bit and make it much more powerful to kick from a sitting position.
As for walking in them, why bother. I just take them off if I want to wade fish, mine have a fastek fastener so they go on and off quickly.
I also recommend getting a tether, at over $100 a pair you don’t want to loose them - I speak from experiance on this one…
I am fat. one benefit of carrying extra weight is that I have large calves. I have never had a problem with my scuba fins, either underwater or in a float tube. as far as going forwards and backwards, that is just a matter of learning how to kick. I can go either direction with my scuba fins.
the other fins weren’t scuba, but freediving fins for those foolhardy (or brave) enough to dive in the big open water, without SCUBA, after huge (read: HUGE) fish. The fins are usually 3 feet long or better.
PS----> hate Force Fins…the floppyness turned me off…as does the price tag. I may try them again if I find a pair cheep at a garage sale.
HUH!? And Scuba fins aren’t?
just to keep my sanity in check, flip fins are worn with wading boots ![]()
Yes…they are, but so are Force Fins
SCUBA fins are most definately NOT floppy…at least mine aren’t as force fins are. Hey! Prove me wrong…send me a pair and I will try them out!!
Your ON! What’s your address;):D:cool:
Okay, now this has been brewing on another site too. Question to all who have responded thus far…have you now or have you ever used both to do a comparison? If not, perhaps you should try them. I have both and this is what I think (which along with my opening challenge has likely turned you off already)
Force Fins in XL do not fit over my wading boots as well as my Omega Navigators.
Force Fins do not comfortably fit the top of my high arched foot as well as my Omegas.
Walking in the Omegas is a plus, but not like I’m planning on wading in them after parking my pontoon, but to get a nature break or for short hike from lot to water they are great.
Force fins will move you, so will Omega Navigators. I believe the Navigators move me as fast and as efficiently as Force Fins.
I belive that Force Fins have a slight advantage in keeping me in place with fine movements (maybe because of the upturned shape and deep v).
When I need or want to wear boots I’m wearing my Omega Navigators because they work better for footwear in my view.
When I plan on wearing some aqua socks over my stocking feet I’ll go with the Force Fins.
If you don’t believe my testimonial, send me an offer for a fair market price on very good used Force Fins and I’ll send them to you thereby ending my plight of deciding which work best for me. Sadly for those still reading, my Omega Navigators are not for sale.
