No, I sent a small piece of muskox hide and something even a little more rare… And much whiter…
See, the nice glossy muskox… guardhairs are literally a foot long…
:oops: oh my…really, you shouldn’t have…people might think they have to send presents to someone who really gets her “extra” in the form of other folks’ best tying efforts.
if you all knew my mail carrier, you’d never send me anything. the gentleman is not wound too tightly, though someone got tired of wet magazines and has given him a rain slicker. but somehow the flies arrive and are tenderly shoved through the mail slot where they hit the floor, startling whichever cat is reposing just there. you can tell it’s flies: their noses twitch and sometimes they will give the package a pat to see if it will run away…
…on the other hand, i’ve been looking for something, well, white…

I thoroughly enjoy the “something white” I got a few years ago, if it’s similar. That muskox hair is pretty neat! They are interesting critters for sure.
walt, your flies are here. i opened the box to take a look, and the whole bunch of them…moved…
and the color was really buggy…and the wings sort of fluttered as they seemed to crawl over each other…
i didn’t scream. but i sure shut the box in a hurry!:lol:

A dozen size #6 “Yellow Ba$tard Streamers” will be going out in the mail tomorrow.

Bass_Bug’s Yellow Ba$tard Streamers [COLOR=Black]have arrived! Tilt your monitor/screen if the yellow print doesn’t show up well. The effect is kind of magic. the flies look super good, too–wait 'til you see how he managed the collar in yellow.
And Freddyg’s [COLOR=Blue]blue midge pupae[COLOR=Black] are here too. complete with blue tungsten heads. the toe tags tell where to get such things.
You two have outdone yourselves! Thanks for the hard work.

Imagine my surprise when, upon cleaning my tying desk, that I discovered the envelope with this swaps flies, still unmailed. My apologies. Flies go out in the AM.

Maybe get me to clean my tying desk more often. The envelope was under 2 hun partridge skins and a moorhen skin. If I clean my desk I won’t be able to find anything though.

that’s what happens when the time frame is so long. next time i’ll avoid the holidays altogether.
Ron, if you’re looking to clear some space, send that moorhen skin this way. I’ve got a nice spot it can stay clear of being in the way!

i have sent a PM to bspitt. Night Angler’s PM box is full. If their flies do not arrive by 1/31, we have a choice: divvy up the extras amongst those whose flies have arrived, or send the extras back to their tyers. the first alternative is much easier on your meister-ess, the second kinder to the tyer.
let me know your preference, folks! 
There is a third option and one I prefer. The Swap Miester-ess should keep the extras if there are any, just for running the swap. A thankless task at best. Easy on everyone concerned.
QK, sorry, the moorhen got put away along with the Golden Plover, Jackdaw and several Hun Partridge skins.
