I wish American car companies would simplify rather than complicate their designs. An Indian car company simplified a car so much that it can be sold for less than 3k dollars, so why can't GM, Ford and Chrysler make one that is at least cheaper and more fuel efficient than a Toyota, Honda or Nissan? Is it the corporations wanting more money or the consumer wanting more out of a car than what it really needs to be?

On a side note, Mahindra which is another Indian company is already selling tractors and such in the US. They are planning to start selling a light pickup with a small diesel engine that gets 40mpg. It's called a Scorpio in some other countries, but it will be in the US under a different name due to Ford apparently already having a vehicle with that name. Supposedly this pickup is going to start out at around 22k which is considerably more than a Ranger, Canyon or Colorado, but the fuel efficiency is what's going to make it sell.
