Default Soft Hackle Fly Swap is MAILED

Perhaps the oldest form of fly for warmwater or cold is the soft hackle fly. I suppose there are some rigid, historical names, but sometimes they're just named for the colors represented. This is another "concept" swap. It doesn't matter the color nor the name. Personally I have a dickens of a problem getting a decent look using the partidge feathers, so this is more of a personal challenge than anything else. I'm forcing myself to tie a fly worthy of sending out to a dozen of you folks. We'll leave this open until we have an even dozen, and we'll make the deadline March 1, 2007 as the deadline. Mail in your choice of container with the appropriate return postage to John G. White, Box 672, Clara City, MN 56222.

    10. REE - PT Softhackle (RECEIVED)
    11. Donald Nicolson - A Traditional (DROPPED)
    12. Mr. Blur - (RECEIVED)

We're full. As soon as all the flies are in they'll be mailed. If we beat the deadline, then we beat it. Thanks everyone! JGW

Can I get in with my version of Al Campbells, Carey Special? This would be my fist time trying to tie Soft Hackle flies. John

    John,

I've been wanting to try my hand at soft hackles and this swap will provide the needed impetus to begin. I'll have to check my materials before deciding on a pattern.

Merry Christmas... and thanks for hosting,
    Will

I haven't really tied any good soft hackles myself but this swap will improve that for sure. Put me down for a Partidge and orange.

finally another soft hackle swap!! I would love to jump on this one if possible. I will tie a wired bodied softie that has been a killer here on the white river system called the BDK.
