Default How to use Hareline Dubbin, Inc Pseudo Marabou?

First, I have nothing to do with Hareline Dubbin, Inc and only recently discovered their products. At this point I have no opinion of their products.

I found a new product in a fly shop called Pseudo Marabou. It comes in a variety of colors. It was associated with a bait fish pattern; # 10 hook, under body/wing in white, upper body or wing in florescent yellow with dark green vertical (colored) marker stripes and a predator eye. It appeared to be a great pattern.

So, how do you use this stuff? Anyone know of any video demonstrations of this product? (I did look and found videos of their other products but not the pseudo marabou...)

    Thanks

Patience is a virtue I apparently don't have. I actually watched the first part of this video. Thanks!

What a pity. He's using a beautiful Renzetti Master complete with the Ausable crank and never once used the rotation feature. Maybe that's because he didn't have the bobbin cradle?

Thanks for the video. I was given some of that pseudo-hackle and never thought of a use for it.

Or maybe he doesn't really take to the rotary tying much. Quite a few folks I know don't use the feature....myself included.

I've found it works really well as a sub for bucktail on several types of streamers and it can be spun like wool for the heads on sculpin and other large profile flies. I haven't done much else with it though. Hope that helps.

I have always been using the cradle on my Renzetti Rotary Vise.....

One thing I did change on my Rezetti was the handle.... I replace the little stub handle with a peice of flat metal, with two holes drilled into the strip.

One hole is for inserting the metal strip onto the Renzetti, the other is for placing a round drawer knob onto the metal strip.

Now I crank out my flies, with better results.....

I originally used the handle of a paint brush (instead of the metal strip).... and wrote 3 Tying Tip articles on the subject.
