I have been away too long. I was in Lynchburg TN last week and wondered how Warren was doing. Spent the day in Tullahoma with a client then headed to the mill to see what the water looked like that...
I had the great fortune of watching Mr. Knowles fish a section of water on the Norfork (McClellan's Ace in the Hole) several years ago. I sat amazed on the bank as he caught fish after fish in what...
PT,
Just read through your life blog and pattern index. Stunning and intriguing would be an understatement. Great story, great flies, great memories for generations to come.

I really like the Tomsu Supreme Hopper and the thunder thighs hoppers. Sam's one bug is simple and effective, but if you are really looking for a hopper pattern this one is dynamite!...
Uncle Jesse, I know this is an old post but that small pond with the pipe is no more. :^( Was one of my favorite "secrete" spots.
Or Google "Sam's One Bug". :^)

Such great advice and wisdom. I had the opportunity to fish with a gentleman in the late 80's on a river in AR. A slow moving section of water that tailed out into quick runs and riffles. He...
Matt is a friend of mine and I spent an evening showing him and Fishhawk how to tie dad's "Sam's One Bug". Warren I can take you to the water. Another friend just opened up an outfitter and rental...
Knucks- U R Welcome.
Look forward to sharing what I know at the TVFF meeting. Sad to say I have been away too long.

I actually got a little free time Easter weekend to get out on the water by myself for a change. No kids in tow- although I love taking them, No guiding so to speak or not having to put people on...

Got to say I love catching them on popping bugs!
"Sam's One Bug" there is nothing better than watching the fish explode or simply sip a top water bug off the surface! IMHO

Boats can pretty much get as close as they want without actually getting into the turbine room. LOL...They had a patrol boat for a few months and closed access to the road during the whole...
After unpacking boxes and rediscovering the many tying books, magazines, materials, etc... that had been packed away not just from little hands but for safe keeping I can finally say I am happy to be...
NICE! :D I have some mule deer skins that I don't let scissors near! LOL The hair is about 4 inches long and has very little underbody and is some of the best tanned/ dyed skins I have ever come...
Dad would kick your butt out of the Gheenoe! :D Just kidding....I have about 50 boxes of flies he tied. Let me know if there is something in particular you would like to have.
