ZipCast Line Cleaner?

Any one tried the ZipCast line cleaner :?:

Your evalution comments please :?:

Recent thread…and after I read it I couldn’t resist ordering some…in the mail to me as we speak…from Dot Man a sponsor here…check out the thread…

Bought a bottle from Jerry (Dotman). Works great! Really does a great job of cleaning and treating the line. I was using Renew, but Zipcast seems to do a better job of reducing friction.

For anyone that is using or about to try Zip Cast, I offer the following tips that have worked very well for me:
Take a disposable cloth towel (an old white t-shirt would work well)and cut it into pieces about an inch and a half square. I put a bunch in an old Altoids tin and keep that and the bottle of Zip Cast in a ziplock bag in my wader bag. When you clean your line, take a piece of cloth and put 3 or 4 drops on the cloth and pinch it on the line as you strip it off the reel while it is still attached to the reel seat. I strip the line onto my pickup’s tailgate to keep it out of the dirt. When you get all the line through the patch, flip the patch over, pinch around the line, and reel the line back on as you guide it with your fingers that are pinching the patch.
Applying the Zip Cast this way is very convenient, and will make the bottle last a VERY long time. This method takes me almost exactly two minutes to do (yeah, I timed it), and I actually do clean my line after every day’s fishing. Sure is nice to start out the day with a clean, slick line every time!..Ed

Max,

If you are coming to the Fly Fishing Show in Somerset, New Jersey Jan 26-28, I will be there and will have a ZipCast demo setup so please stop by if you are there.

Jerry

Thanks for the info Jerry. I was looking for your name on the exhibitor list last night but didnt see it.

Joe,

You got me curious so I checked the web site. They have me listed under my company name, Brumfield Enterprises. See you there.

Jerry

Its good stuff alright. I have some and have been happy with it.

Last year at Fly Fish Texas we did a test on a “guinea pig” line that had been abused on the Gulf of Mexico and left on an old reel. The paper towel we used looked awfully grody afterward and the line was like new. So I was impressed.

That explains it, I was looking for “reel” and “dots”

Great stuff! Jerry’s ethics wouldn’t allow him to put his “stamp” on anything but top quality.
Mike

I’ll cast another vote in favor of Zipcast. I bought it before DotMan became the distributor so I’ve used it several times. Good Stuff!!

Jerry, I bought a bottle of Zip Cast last summer and loved it. Used it up and ordered another bottle from the manufacturer. I only recieved the empty shipping tube with the ends and product missing so I didn’t order again.

So, if I order from your site it gets packed and shipped by you? Are you using a small box or something better than that shipping tube?

Thanks,
Mark Griffin

Mark,

Knowing Jerry’s reputation he’d probably deliver it to your door if there was any problems. And, he’d certainly replace a missing order.

Mark,

Wow, sorry to hear that. I package in a padded 6x9 envelope and I have shipped hundreds of bottles, many overseas with no problems. Furthermore if something happens I will ship another bottle at no charge. I also ship within two days, unless I run out of stock. Which I did recently, but I informed my customers of the slight delay.

Jerry

Thanks Jerry, that’s good news. I love it when I can do business with PA vendors.

It cleans the line and makes it slick. For awhile. Doesn’t last long.

Just my opinion, yours will be different.

Norm,

That is correct and why we recommend you use it every time or every other time you go fishing. It leaves nothing on your line to collect dirt like silicone does. Besides making your line very slick it cleans the line too. The ease of application is awesome and you only need to use a few drops so there is no need to use an excessive amount. It makes old lines cast like new, but it will not work miracles on cracked and very worn lines.

Jerry

Jerry,
Just ordered some myself. I will personally vouch for Jerry. He only manufactures and sells products of the highest quality. Jerry is one terrific guy!
