Reminiscent of the one from 2016, when over 10,000 whitefish died and they shut the upper river down to all fishing and boating activity.

They are not planning on shutting down the river this year. The die off is small, very localized and likely due to low flows and warmer water. Today we are getting snow so the river will cool down and the panic will be over.
