Tonight with a couple hours of daylight remaining, I hit the door with my CGR and a half dozen #10 Grizzly X-Gurglers. No pretense on where I was heading…it was to be a bluegill night. No need for a fly box, poppers and buggers. I would not need them. I was heading for a 1 acre pond and gills in fall colors.

Ralph in your Flytying videos you referred to the product razor foam, there is a product called Razor foam and it’s about .5 mm thick ,is that the product you’re using to tie the X gurgles? Also have you had any luck in the past using yellow foam?
I have 2 kinds here that I use interchangeably…Razor Foam and Cabelas “Thin Fly Foam”. Both are 2mm. I have used yellow effectively also, yes. But far-and-away my best luck is with a black body locally. Yellow legs work well also.
