Wyatt's Trude SBS

Developed by Californian Cliff Wyatt, sometime in the mid-1900’s, as a stonefly imitation (guessing salmonfly here).

hook - Mustad 9672 #6
thread - Danville 6/0 black
tail - guinea
rib - oval tinsel gold
body - chenille orange
wing - fox squirrel tail
hackle - guinea

Part 1

mash barb, start thread, wrap to point above barb

measure (gap width past bend) some guinea fibers; tie in

tie in rib

and chenille

wrap chenille; tie off 1 eye width behind eye

counterwrap rib; tie off/trim

Part 2

clean, stack, measure (tips to bend) some squirrel tail; tie in

tie in (folded) guinea by tip

wrap, tie off/trim, whip, SHHAN
