I have a Wright & McGill Granger Aristocrat 7’ two piece bamboo rod with two tips. The rod looks to be in real good condition almost new condition. I dont know if it has been restored or not it has been in storage for the last 35+ years and has not been used in that time. I dont fly fish and this was given to me by my grandfather 35 years ago. I also have the cloth sleve and tube with only a small piece of the lable. I was wondering if anyone had some info about this rod, possible value and were I could try to sell this.
Thanks for any information. Sorry the pictures are not that great.
Hi, a Bing search turned this up. http://home.myfairpoint.net/and96jac/fishnbanjossliceoflifeincyberspacecopy/id14.html
These folks are the experts on bamboo rods http://clarksclassicflyrodforum.yuku.com/ and a good place to sell if that’s what you want to do.
That is a very desirable bamboo rod.
I would echo the advice of asking for an appraisal on the the classic fly rod forum.
If it is indeed in the condition you state, it should bring circa a $1000.00.
Be advised they will ask for pictures.
Also follow the “before you ask for an appraisal” tutorial at the top of the appraisal board.
Look forward to seeing it!
Yes a highly desirable rod. I’ve had excellent service dealing with Jim Bresko at Coldwater collectibles www.bamboo-rods.com
no connection just a recommendation.
