Wired Wooster Streamer SBS

Variation on a Kiwi pattern. Usually tied with a chenille body, the one I found had a red dubbed body with silver rib; this one’s a deeper version.

hook ? Mustad 9671 #4
thread - Danville 6/0 black
body/rib ? medium wire red
wing - ginger saddle
throat - ginger hen
topping - mallard flank

Part 1

mash barb, tie wire in at front (leave 1 eye width free at the front); wrap to bend

prep a pair of saddle feathers, measure against body and strip fibers off underside of feathers; tie in

pull wing tight to the rear, insert needle to separate hackle fibers and rib the wing Matuka style with the return wrap; helicopter end, cover with thread

Part 2

tie in hackle by tip; wrap, tie off/trim

prep mallard flank, measure (halfway back on the tail); tie in

whip finish, SHHAN

It is certainly an interesting tie. Have you had the chance to use it?

Ed,

Not yet. 4 more weeks of kitchen remodeling then back to MT. I’d try it now on some of the local water for bass but the algae bloom has started and I don’t feel like pulling pond snot off after every cast.

Scott

i really like the color combination

I can certainly understand that. It is one of the reasons I’d rather do my warm water fishing in streams. Good luck in MT.

Ed
