What a despicable act! Forgive me but I want this guy fried. I don’t want him hanged, shot or given a needle as those things are too kind for him. I want him fried in the electric chair!
My prayers are offered for this young officer and his family. I would never have believed this could happen in Pennsylvania.
I hope that during this investigation, all th i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed. A tragedy such as this should be punished to the fullest extent of our laws.
News travels fast in my circle of friends here in Pa. I have many, many friends working for the Pa. Game Commission that I have the utmost respect for. This will hit them hard. They are a close knit group of folks. This is just tragic! There really are no words to describe my outrage either. My condolences go out to all who were touched by the loss of their loved one and friend.
Man, what a tradgety. My prayers go out to his family, and his brothers and sisters in uniform. It really disgusts me that someone would do something like that, especially someone who will probably be labeled as an outdoorsman…like the rest of us law abiding outdoorsmen/women. Nothing could be further than the truth!
I believe Charlie Daniels had the correct remedy for this sort of situation. I think it would most certainly be fitting for a punnishment that fits the crime.
What the heck makes these People like this guy think that a Warden, W.C.O or whatever our states choose to call them aren’t law enforcement/police officers? He darned well knew what was going to happen to him for violating his parole from felony robbery. Further details report that the WCO had put a handcuff on the suspects right wrist. The suspect fired several shots that penetrated the officers vehicle from the door down through the rocker panel. He finished the officer off with a shot to the head then shot the handcuff off of his own wrist. He executed Wildlife Conservation Officer David Grove!
My heart is breaking for Dave’s family, friends and fellow W.C.O.'s. Mr D.A. and Mr. Governor you guys better put this one down for keeps. Like I said fry him!
Sad to say but often it’s not the District Attorney or Governor that applies the death penalty…it’s a jury of peers.
Here in NC, we just finished up a two month trial of a man who murdered a State Trooper…happened alot the same lines as this bad incident in PA. The jury found him guilty of 1st degree murder, which then the state can seek the death penalty. The State did so, and rightly so…but the jury “hung” on a 6-6 for/against the death penalty, so according to law, the Judge then had to impose a life in prison sentence. So now us NC residents have to pay for this low-life thug’s well being in state prison for the rest of his life. I was very happy with the jury’s verdict of “guilty” in the trial but very unhappy with the split-decision on the sentencing phase.
We need to reinstate public hangings for heinous crimes such as these.
I place a lot of the blame there on my fellow citizen, regardless of the state they reside in, not stepping up and serving on juries when summoned but looking for outs so their life is not inconvienced. Anyone who has an excuse, with the exception of serious medical conditions, should be advised they will be call to serve at the next session. They then have X number of weeks to make arrangements to take care of their exception. I had Grand Jury in Gwinnett County, Ga, it was 2 days a month for 6 months. The DA convinced the jurors to meet on Wednesday, about my objection, totally screws up any travel plans out of town that week. It was a tremendous pain in the rear, but one of the most interesting things I have ever done.
I thought a guillotine on a flat bed truck might send a powerful message. Have the execution in the neighborhood of the criminal.
My heart goes out to the family of this fellow Pennsylvanian.
Our Pennsylvania WCO’s; whether they be Wildlife Conservation Officers or Waterways Conservation Officers are IN FACT, law enforcement officers who deserve the utmost respect for putting their lives on the line, just so we can have fun. Unfortunately Officer Grove paid the ultimate price which should serve as a reminder to us all that these dedicated public servants aren’t just out there hiding in the bushes checking for licenses. They are doing real police work and unfortunately encounter the same scum bags our regular PD have to deal with on a daily basis. Take a moment the next time you see one to thank them for the job they do for us and the wildlife we pursue.
BTW - I hereby volunteer for jury duty in Adams County and would be happy to administer the lethal injection for the Commonwealth although “Old Sparky” would be a more appropriate choice.
While this tragedy has nothing to do with safety, it should also serve as a reminder to folks like me who don’t hunt, that this is a dangerous time of year to be traipsing about in the woods without bright clothing. Make sure to wear at least SOME blaze orange clothing when fishing or hiking during deer or bear season, even if you are not in designated hunting areas where it may be required. I opt for an orange ball cap and bandanna in most places and an orange vest when I know I am on State Game Lands or State Forest Lands. And NO, the bright clothing hasn’t effected my catch rates! Be safe!
Sign me up also! This lowest of the lowest common denominator needs to be removed from the gene pool! He should get the same level of compassion he showed towards WCO Grove, and that is NONE. WHEN he is convicted of murder in the 1st degree, he should be taken out using the same method he used to end the life of one of Pennsylvania’s finest! - Lethal injection by way of lead. And I’m being NICE here! This guy DOES NOT want me sitting on his jury! I’m fair, but extremely conservative!!! I WILL be keeping my eye on this tragic event and the resulting trial. Again, my heart goes out to the loved ones of WCO David Grove - May you find peace.
