I bought a kit to try try the wiggle bug, I like it but the kit had 4 hooks and 4 bodies and sold for right at 6 bucks. Anyone know where I can by the dense foam in sheet form?
Thanks,
Dan

I buy the blocks of foam from sleazy steve’s soggy bottom site and cut the bodies using a razor knife.
How thick is the foam?Joanns has a few thickness of foam to chose from as you can buy a can of spray glue to add and creat thicker pieces and then cut as you wish. Later Matt
To each there own !
I suggest you look in any of the larger craft stores for foam door knob “hangers”. They are sheets of foam about 3 1/2 inches wide by 10 inches long 3/16ths inch thick. They are made for kids to hang on their door knobs with messages like Keep Out!. They’re not expensive, come in all colors and are the perfect thickness for this pattern.

“There is no doubt that bass find wiggling, diving flies irresistible, and the Wiggle Bug does just that. It’s underwater action is similar to a flatfish lure or any number of crankbaits. You can form your own Wiggle Bug body from beach sandal foam, but your best bet is to use the EdgeWater Wiggle Bug kit that includes the foam, hook and instructions, or buy EdgeWater Wiggle Bug Sticks, which are the shaped foam bodies. (EdgeWater 801-825-8982) You may want to examine or purchase a completed fly, particularly for the placement of the foam on the hook.”

Ben Franklin’s has it too.
I use our paper cutter and it comes out very straight and I can make all the strips uniform.
For wiggle bugs you need 6mm foam. Here is where you can get sheets of it cheap, if you can’t find it at your local craft store. [url=http://www.stainedglassoriginals.com/kidscraftsupplies_foamsheets2.html:e0c28]http://www.stainedglassoriginals.com/kidscraftsupplies_foamsheets2.html[/url:e0c28]
