Help please. Where is the best place to buy Uni 6/0 fly tying thread. I have a Cabela’s about 4-5 miles from me, but they never have the colors I’m looking for. Fire Orange and Light Cahill.
When I need a specific item that is not carried by Bass Pro or Tacklebox Outfitters, I either place a special order through them or order online. Bass Pro will ship to there store free as long as it’s not a rush order.

I am not very familiar with shops in your immediate area but The Flyshop (1-800-669-3474) ( in CALIF. has three locations you might try. Also, Feathercraft in St. Louis,Mo.(1-800-659-1707) always has a very good selection. Both shops have free catalogs which I usually keep on hand just in case my local shops don’t have what I need… Good luck.

Have you talked to the people in the fly tying area of the store about what you use? When I worked in retail we almost always ordered that kind low price item if someone asked about it. The boss figured if one person wanted it badly enough to ask there was probably enough local market for it to try it. It may take a while before the next order comes in though. If it’s a matter of being sold out all of the time ask someone to call you when it comes in.

How about Hook and Hackle? They are also a sponsor here and they are cheaper on Uni-thread than Stockard. It pays to shop around.

Yep sure is…Hook and Hackle, $5.95 0-35 dollars, above that, its free. J Stockard, $5.00 0-100 dollars, above that, its free.
Just about a wash, you decide who to order from…for my money, it is Hook and Hackle.

If unable to find someone close to you, you might also look to Anglers Workshop. Although they used to be a sponsor here, last year the business moved from Washington to Illinois. Always had great service from them, especially with hard to find items.
