How about the Redington CD. I have the GD and think it is a fine reel.

I just picked up a Redington GD 9/10 for $80 and a spare spool for $25 from Cabela’s. It’s a nice reel, esp. for that money. The drag has a lot of range and is good and strong. It a gear drag, but I’ve read a lot of good reviews here about them. They retailed for $130 last year.

For that money,I would go with either a Teton Tioga or a Ross Cimarron. Both reels will fit the bill, cost less than $200 and both are backed by excellent customer service.Mant people here in the northeast swear by the Tioga.

While I’m a Ross addict, I have a few of the Teton Tiogas. I don’t think you can go wrong with either one. Tioga is available with a standard or large arbor if that makes any difference. The Ross Cimarron is a standard arbor.
