Greetings!
This is the first time I have posted in a LONG time. I want to say that this site is not some passing fancy. This is a community of very thoughtful people. I did my time at work for 27 yrs, making lots of money and getting toys. Now I am retired and doing volunteer work. The way I see it is that all the long hours I worked making lots of money did not help me be happy. The people that I volunteer to help have taught me that being quiet and listening to others is a key element to being happy.
FAOL is what makes me happy because of the high standards here. No one needs to be afraid of being made fun of for asking a question. I am in awe of the years of experience of JC & LF and many others that visit this site. The members of this site were not drawn here by some gimick or freebies. FAOL is the REAL DEAL.
I have watched sports for many years and when I see a athlete do something special, it makes me think of how lucky that person is doing what they love.
JC & LF must be doing what they love because this site is very special.
All the years I have flyfished, I have had people respond to me that “I could never learn to flyfish” This site takes that stumbling block away and is a great resource for everyone.
Thank You!
P.S. I would like to say hi to Joe Sanders, Cary Morlan and Jeff.
Sincerely,
Doug
Doug,
It’s great to hear from you. Check you email. OK?
Peace my friend.
Life, is the time He gave you to determine where you want to spend eternity.

DShock,
Very well put and I agree 100%. I always know that I can come here, when I am at work and stress starts to build, and get immediate comfort. FAOL gives me a place to escape whenever I need it.
JC and LF are the greatest and their work on this web site is most appreciated by this member.

Doug,
Good to see you posting! Missed you at the CWFI.

Perfect post DShock, I agree with you 100%. I have also learned to recognize others needs and learned to share here. I have made some good friends here. I have learned an awful lot here that I know I could not have learned else where. John
I wish you all everlasting flies and tight lines.
DShock - I concure whole heartly. I have never had a bad experience here and I, like you, contribute that to J.C. and L.F. and the board. We are truly fortunate.
I see you live in an old stomping ground of mine. I would venture you have fished the Clackamas? The Colawash was always a favorite tributory. If I told you, I caught the biggest rainbow of my life up there and said how big it was, no one would believe me. A royalcoach on the right day at the right place at the right time.
Again, excellent post. Jonezee
I learn more about the world while talking to myself when fishing alone
Yep, it sure is a woooonderful place. Pull up a chair, grab a donut. Hey, but don’t you take that Dutchie. I got my eye on the dutchie…
Doug,
Glad you are back. I agree about this site too.

Doug;
Well said! May I add “Amen”!!
I agree as well!
Yep I’ve spat my dummy in the sand pit a couple of times, but keep coming back as my sanity demands that I do. Jax
Getting Old has it’s advantages. It slows you down just enough to get your timing for tightening into a trout Just Right.
Doug,
What it means to me is “Family”!
Wonderful folks here…I was truly blessed to have stumbled upon this site, & even more blessed to have been able to meet & fish with some of my FAOL family members…a list which will continue to grow. Many fine friendships are established here.
Mike
