Hi Folks,
Some years back we were taking a barge
load of refinery gear up the Mississippi to
Ohio when one evening we were innundated by
grey hex’s. Couldn’t open your eyes or
mouth on deck.G Amazing! We put the bow
of the barge on the bank and waited several

They routinely close the Market Street bridge in Wilkes-Barre during the whitefly hatch because the smashed flies coat the bridge deck and make driving difficult.
I think they wind up hosing the bridge deck off with firetrucks.

Having gone to school in Wilkes-Barre, I can vouch for the white fly hatch. Unfortunately, the fishing wasn’t any good on the Susquehanna when I was there.
