Western Snowpack 2018

Not looking good for Oregon/southern Rockies although there’s lots of time to boost those numbers. Compare to last year

It had better hurry up and get going - no rain or snow here in s. new mexico at all, or expected. La Nina is treating us badly

Latest and greatest. Northern tier looking good, pretty grim the farther you head south. Hopefully, we don’t get a wet, warm spring in MT like in 2011; some pretty bad flooding that year.
Sadly, per the note in the upper left-hand corner, it looks like USDA won’t be supporting this graphic much longer; too bad, it’s a handy tool.

Scott

here in AZ we have only had a dusting of snow and last years monsoon season was a now show. were hurting.

Eric,

Here’s Humphreys Peak from last Wednesday

12,600 and not a lot of white up there. Sorry to see that and hope you don’t have a bad fire season.

Scott

Here’s my current comments on the snowpack and what it means for the PFS ops area.
Snowpack and Season Forecast

Found this map on the Chiwulff site

Went to the NRCS site. If you tap on the “Controls” box in the upper right corner of the map, you can do some cool customization to the display.

Yellowstone basin crossed 170% of normal today. Northeast Entrance Snotel (on Soda Butte) is flirting with record levels for the date. Runoff is going to be big throughout the state, and the water ought to be nice and cold thereafter. June is going to be tough though…

thanks, my asthma also hope for a heavy rain and no fires

Eric

Record snow for April in Northern Michigan.
