Cortland Fly rods
Lamson reels
… are made in Ketchum, Idaho. You might be more familiar with “Sun Valley.”
Lamson ( Waterworks ) makes some fine fly reels. Maybe a bit pricey compared to some, but you do get what you pay for.

thanks john. can anyone tell me where the cortland fly rods are made or give me an educated guess.

One of our local shop carries cortland gear. The rods that I have examined are made in China. I have not examined all models.
The Waterworks-Lamson website indicates that the ULA Force LT, ULS Force Saltwater Spey, ULA P Series, and Lamson Litespeed are machined in the U.S. It doesn’t say where they are assembled. The website also does not make any statement about where the Velocity, Guru, and Konic are made.
I found this on Fishwest site:
Where is Konic made? Some parts that go into this reel are made in the U.S., and some are made overseas; final manufacturing and quality control is in Boise, Idaho.
