I am looking to buy an ultraligt fly rod. I want it to be about 6-7 feet long and either a 3 or 4 weight rod. I looked at Cabelas, Bass Pro, Sage, and some others. I’m not looking to spend too much maybe about $150.00. I have only found about 3 or 4 rods around that price that I liked. Do any of you guys or girls know of any websites that I can look at that sell ultralight rods with the above specifications? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I got a honey of a little 6’3" 3wt 3pc at bass pro shops for $99. I love it on some of the small streams here in the smokies. it is the Classic Ultralight. John

I wish you all everlasting flies and tight lines.
TFO makes a very nice rod for not much $$$. I think you can find what you are looking for, for under $100. Check the sponser page on this site un Temple Fork Outfitters.

Go to Sponser (To the Left) and look at Hook And Hackle. You can build a nice one, on sale for around $70.00. This is not rocket science. Enjoy your own creation.
If you can stand 6" more the Cabela’s Three Forks 3 wt 3 pc is perhaps the best $50 rod known to mankind.
I bought a 7ft. TFO 2pc. 3wt. rod earlier this year and I love it. I’ve caught several trout, bass, and bluegill on it and I really like the action of the rod. You can check out Temple Fork Outfitters on the sponsors page.
Good luck with your decision.

Hi Fish4life,
I’ve got a quiver full of ultralight
rods in the shorter sizes. My two favorites
would be my JP Ross Beaver Meadows 5 foot 3
weight and my Diamondback 6 1/2 foot 3
weight. The JP Ross is slow like a banty
cane and the Diamondback is a tick faster
than medium. I really enjoy the both of
them in my warmwater fishery for gills and
red eared sunfish.G Warm regards, Jim
If you’re willing to build one, I bought a 7’6" 3wt kit from H&H over the winter. Fooling around with it, it seems like a great rod, and I’ll get to test it out next week
.
Vocelli: I checked out that lil streamer rod by Dorber and it lookslike a very nice little rod. Actually thinking of getting that one.
I have looked at most of your suggestions and liked all the rods all of you suggested. Thanks for the advice so far.
Ive got a very nice 7 1/2’ 2pc rod in next to new condition for sale on the *things for sale" section of this site. Low price and great for small streams. Check it out if you like.
