Twin Sisters- Matching pair casting rods

Figured I’d show that I build more than just fly rods with this pair. These are a pair of for Steelhead fishing. Blanks are 9’ 6" 2pc Med/Lt 8-12lb Salmon/Steelhead Batson “Titanium color” blanks. Seats are FUJI exposed blank trigger seats with gun smoke hood. Guides are top of the line ALPS TiCH Zirconium Ring SF guides. Grips are all burnt cork with rubberized ends in a split grip design and 1oz of Tungston wight in the ends of them for balance… Owner wanted the rods to be stealthy looking so wraps are Black without trim.

Two very stealthy lookin rods. That motif would look nice on a fly rod as well. When I used to do a lot of steelhead fishing in the U.P., I saw a number of folks using 10’ fly rods with Fugi type guides all the way to the tip top. They also used mono on Martin multipler reels instead of regular fly line. Never tried that set-up myself.
