Tippet class records for longnose gar?

Anyone have access to the IGFA record books? I caught a 52.5" gar in Missouri last week, and my cousin (also a guide, www.fishinglakeoftheozarks.com) suggested that it could have been heavy enough to qualify as a tippet class record if I had caught it on a hook instead of a rope streamer. That’s the sort of thing that tends to stick in one’s mind, and now I am dying to know.

I looked at the requirements and it more than qualified for a “Master Angler” award in Missouri. Kind of depressing the second gar I ever caught on a fly rod was big enough for that, and I’ve never caught a trout big enough…

Here’s the fish, no idea why the URL won’t embed right:

(or just view the blog, yellowstonefishingguide.blogspot.com)

You have to be a member of the IFGA to access the fly rod records, but here is the all tackle record for gar…
