The salvation army kettles are out and the need is greater than any time since the great depressionn. To get thngs rolling I’ll send a dozen flies to the first two non-tyers who promise to make a five dollar donation. If you say you are coming to the Michigan fish-in I’ll add a hex fly to that dozen. The flies are all tied so the first poster should indicate which set they want.

Very good thoughts men…all of the above, especially at Thanksgiving time. Hopefully the ball will continue to roll and get bigger and biggger. Maybe…maybe not. But one can hope. At least I can count me in tonight…and it makes me feel a little good.

I’m just putting some cash in a kettle. I’d have sent you some of my flies, but they have been known to make the hole in the ozone bigger, cause cancer in laboratory rats, and scare the h-e-double hockey sticks out of fish. When they don’t go belly up laughing. This way, at least I know you’ll get some quality-tied flies.

I DID get crazy4oldcars offer though. Haven’t received them yet…but I have been informed a set is indeed mine. So again thanks to you guys. Now I really like this thread. I have a suggestion for the great guy that started it.
How about a drawing…of all the people who post here that they are/have donated to The Salvation Army…a couple of weeks before Christmas, set a date for the drawing. Put all handles into a jar that donated and draw one. That winner would get boaf sets of flies. Wouldn’t that be neat? I would do it but I can’t tie now and not good for anything more than a wooly worm at this point. Perhaps Rainbowchaser is in no position to do that, so I surely am not trying to put him on the spot. Just thought it was a good idea.
Now I just wonder who, of all the famous and familiar names we all know on here…will be the NEXT to donate? I’m guessing Ol’ Blue…but I just thought of this post and so he may already have. I dunno…but knowing him…betcha he donates. Great thread.

After being sick thru the long weekend, I get back to work and get put on overtime! (Woohoo, Christmas money!) Had to get dogfood, so I made sure I went in the door with the bell ringer. BTW, whatever happened to the ding-a-lings wearing Santa suits? I remember that from when I was a kid.
I tie, so no flies for me please. Don’t know how much My wife and I donate but the pockets get emptied several times during this season. And that is bills as well as coins. Keep it up people!!!
