American shad have been reported caught in the Delaware at Trenton. The run is on and I have to be in N.Y.C. all next week in a suit, tie and spit-shines doing my best immitation of a grown-up. Oh well, I guess I gotta pay for my next new fly outfit somehow. But I feel sorry for my brand new, bouncing baby 7wt down in the basement saying “can we go fishing Daddy?” All I can say is “Soon baby soon!” I guess all I’ll be catching next week is cabs.
