A friend in CA sent me this link. It is reported as a found film (16mm Kodachrome) from the day peace in the Pacific was announced. It looks a little haphazard to be the official VJ day, I cannot help but believe there were official parades, etc., on VJ Day. I think it was the day it was broadcast back to the world the Japanese had surrended. Here as we approach the anniversary of the birth of our country I thought it was appropriate to remember what our parents in some cases and grand parents in other endured for our continued freedom.
Great movie. Makes me think of my two Grandfathers. One was a Tanker and the other a Bombadier. Two of the greatest men I have had the pleasure to know. God rest there soles.
