TFO Rod

This last weekend I had to pleasure of meeting Lefty Kreh and Rick Pope of TFO, at
Little River Outfitters in Townsend, TN. They put a 4pc, 3wt Finesse rod in my hand and had me cast it for a bit. It is not in any of the store yet as far as I know. It is about the finest casting rod I have ever had the pleasure to cast. It is going to be a very affordable rod. If any of you get the chance to try one, I am sure you will be just as pleased with it as I was. Just as soon as Little River Outfitters gets them in
I will purchase one. This is just my opinion on what I think is an outstanding rod. John

I wish you all everlasting flies and tight lines.

Hey bassman,
Could you give a little more detail as to where this rod fall with the other tfo rods? Re: action, etc.

This rod is the TFO I mention in my column this week. It really is a lovely rod, both in action and cosmetics. It is available in 2 through 5 weight only.

Thank you Lady Fisher, for passing on that info. I absolutely will get one when Little River Outfitters gets them in. Lefty said it was similar to the pro model but not as stiff. John

I have the 8’6" 4 peice TFO Pro 3 weight and love it.

I have the TFO 6 weight 12’6" Spey, and it has become the rod I use the most. It is light enough to fish with all day, and short enough to both single and double hand easily. If you go one bigger on the line, 7/8 and add a good reel (I use J. Ryall Q10’s on my Spey’s) it will handle steelhead and most salmon.

Man! I love LRO. I always stop in when I am in the area.

I agree with you Jordan, I live about 35 minutes away from LRO and I do most of my gear shopping there. John

I wish you all everlasting flies and tight lines.

I have 5 TFO’s and am very satisfied with all of them.
