Termites

This spring I was on the river and had a swarm of termites coming out of a log and many of them landing on the water. I did see some fish feeding on them. So here is my question are there termite flies out there or is this not worth the effort because this happens so infrequently. Has anyone else seen this?

I would go with an ant fly, just pick one that is close to the color of the wood eaters. Were they black or brown or cream colored?
