May I suggest “Tennessee Trout Waters” by Ian Rutter. Amato Books www.amatobooks.com[/url:15b80]

Might try the Elk or Duck rivers. South central TN.

For teh Smokies, look at http://www.littleriveroutfitters.com/[/url:d1c60]

For the Clinch, Holston, etc try http://www.creelflyfishing.com/[/url:d1c60]

For Middle TN, try http://www.cumberlandtransit.com/page.asp?sid=1&page=4[/url:d1c60]

These are all good folks and I would recommend any of them for guide trips or information. The info is free.

depends on when you are coming John but , there are several good streams in both Eastern and in Middle Tennessee. The water is all up now and dirty form the hard rains the past two days, and tailwaters have the same issue with more water release than was expected. The time of the year you are coming in will make a difference though. Lots of the streams in the smokies area have some nice fishing, for tailwaters, the Clinch, the Caney Fork are always productive. Talk to Bassman, he does a guide service in the smokies and knows all of those streams. Also, go online to www.cumberlandtransit.com[/url:34ad3] and go to their flyfishing board, talk to grumpy, Sanman, or Gofisher. All of those guys will know where to fish, and what to use…seems that is all they get done.

Consider the Tellico Basin. Several small brushy brookie streams. The aforementioned book by Ian Rutter has info on this area. Or go here: www.telliquahoutfitters.com[/url:4baa9]
for more info.

It was like that when I got here.

As many have said it depends upon when you are coming as to what you will have to deal with as far as waters. Check my website www.trout-fishers.net[/url:cf12b] for info on the waters in East Tennessee.

Thnx Jhn 3:16, am planning a trip to mid-TN in May myself. With all the help you have gotten so far, I know I’ll be able to locate some local help. And a hearty thanks to all who have posted with info. That’s what “family” is all about…MK

Live each day as if it were your last, some day you’ll be right!

Sorry someone has some misinformation, I do not have a guide service, there is a link to one in the smokeys on my site. I do thank you for the heads up. John
