Anyone using a switch rod? They look like a great rod for use on lakes. There are many lakes I frequent that require casts over 60 ft to get out to where the fish are when working from shore. My preference is a single handed cast, but it would be nice when needed to switch to a double handed cast. From what I read you can cast (double handed) distances of 100 ft or more with one of these.
Just received my Meiser Switch rod – can’t cast 100 feet yet but working on it. I looked at several different rods, finally called Meiser in Medford, Oregon and talked to him for awhile and order it.
Basically need to know how to make some of the Spey casts.
Love my Great Bay Rod Co. Switch Rod- a lot faster than a Spey rod but works perfectly for long casts at the Beach fishing for stripers.
