the only loops are built onto the fly itself. one in front and one in back.
loops on the hook

loop to loop connection

with a leader installed

i’m using 25 lb amnesia for the fotos above. your rig will look alot better
the hoppicator fly replaces the yarn indicator in the following

and remember that this is just another method amongst the gazillion other ways to do a dry/dropper or hopper/dropper setup

It is always great to see a creative and innovative mind at work.
Thanks for the link.

Great link…thanks, Norm.
I wonder if the mono gets a set in it where it is doubled in the front loop?
I also wonder if a furled leader would get a set in it???

Ok, that was freaking ingenious. But is that loop-to-loop really a Castwell knot?
Also, any recipe and/or video to tie that fly?

a castwell knot does not have a tag end. so maybe its a “half a castwell knot”

should be enough info in the foto to tie em up

but…i’m sure that if you put a mono loop on each end of your favorite foam hopper pattern it will still work as a “hoppicator”
Very creative…I will be doing this soon.
Excellent idea.
