Sun Glasses

I know that there are several brands out there to choose from so its no wonder im confused. My question to the group . What are the best polarized sunglasses for the bang for your buck ? What color lenses are the best for cutting down reflection allowing to see fish on the bottom of the stream ?

I have high end sunglasses and they are very hard to beat but best bang for my buck is Costco’s Kirkland brand aviators. I’ve had them for years was so impressed with the optics I bought another as a backup.

Like Lake Erie said the cosco aviators are great. I also Like for those who need glasses Cosco has a over set that works really well.

I am a fan of Smith Optics, but I need bifocals and the Smith lens colors and technology suits me.

Everyone’s eyes are different, and what you’re looking for is a lens that leaves your eyes feeling relaxed at the end of along day on the water.

Lens color: I prefer bronze mirrors.

Polarized sunglasses can really make or break your day on the water. For value, brands like Suncloud, Tifosi, and Hobie offer great performance without breaking the bank. If you’re willing to spend a bit more, Smith and Costa are top-tier for clarity and durability. As for lens color: amber or copper lenses are often the best all-around choice for stream fishing. They enhance contrast and depth perception, especially in variable light. If you’re fishing in really bright, open conditions, gray lenses are great too, but they don’t offer the same contrast. Bonus tip: get lenses with a blue or green mirror finish for added glare reduction on sunny days.

You’re absolutely right with so many brands and options, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed! I agree with what’s been shared so far: Suncloud, Tifosi, and Hobie give solid performance for the price, while Costa and Smith are definitely worth it if your budget allows. For lens color, I’ve found copper or amber lenses work wonders for spotting fish in streams, they really help cut glare and boost contrast, especially when light conditions change throughout the day. A mirror finish (green or blue) is also a smart choice when it’s bright out. Hope this helps, tight lines!
